greetings

I am a going into second semester of clinicals and I am in the North East Ohio area. I would like to find a nursing home or hospital in this area that are currently or soon going to have stna courses. I would like to work in the field while I complete the rest of the nursing school. does anyone know of any? The only place i found so far is at the Cleveland red cross, but i hate to drive there for 4 weeks.

good luck all

hi, dan! i was born and raised in ne ohio. the website for the agency that has authority over stnas in ohio is here http://www.odh.ohio.gov/odhprograms/io/nurseaide/nurseaide1.aspx

i've never been successful at finding a list of providers on their web site that teach courses. i do know that these courses are often taught in nursing homes. so, you might want to get a phone book and just start calling some of the nursing homes around where you live and see if any of them have cna classes starting soon. otherwise, call the ohio department of health on monday (their number should be listed on the website above) and ask them if they have a list of schools they can send you or give you over the phone.

hope you like the allnurses forums and stay awhile. :welcome:

I know Menorah Park in Beachwood offers STNA classes for free. You might want to contact them.

thanks for the info, great help. i'll try them all out

plan to visit this site often (when time permits!!). looks like a good resource and hopefully i can be of some assistance too.
