Thank you! I just can't believe it! I feel paranoid still but I definitely don't miss it.

Yeah PNAP PTSD. I don't know if the paranoia will ever fully leave but it will abate. Keep a written copy of your release and make sure that they fulfilled their part of the bargain (no record of this disaster on your record if you are in the voluntary program) and get on with your life. God Bless & Good Luck!!!

I think you'll be surprised how quickly it fades.

Once I received my official letter of dismissal, I had a bonfire of the receipts and paperwork i accumulated over the years. Including the contract.

Very cathartic.

Congratulations! It's weird, I thought I would wake up with my heart racing at 4 AM for weeks or months after I got out, worried that I'd forgotten to check in. But the fact is, once my contract was over, I forgot pretty quickly. I still have that occasional thought at 4 AM, when I'm at work on night shift, that if I were still in TPAPN I should be checking in right about now, but I don't stress over it, or freak out and think that I do need to check in. I don't stress over the glass of wine I have at night, I have put it behind me pretty quickly! Crazy, I thought I'd have PTSD from this experience, especially the fear of forgetting to check in, or nightmares that I'd had a glass of wine because I THOUGHT I was done with my contract but in fact I'd been mistaken on the dates or something like that. But no, no nightmares, no stress, it's just all....over. And feels great!
