stethoscope verses the pinard horn or fetoscope

Those of you that use these...is there a difference as far as hearing a fetal heart beat? I mean, will a stethoscope do what the fetoscope and pinard will do and just as well? If so, why are the other two used? To look cool or something?? I know of some homebirth midwives who swear by them. :) I'm honestly curious! And yes, I know most of you use a doppler, I'm just wondering specifically about the stethoscope verses the pinard horn or fetoscope. Thanks!
