Stethescope, what kind should I get?

Hi everyone out there!!! Pardon my spelling if I spelled stethescope wrong...anyways, I was wondering which steth is good for a nursing student? How much should I spend on one? Should I also get a blood pressure kit? How much should I spend on it? Pleeeese let me know....thanks!!

Yes scopes do grow legs, MD's fellow nurses (or students if you are still in class) will "borrow" and never return. put your name on EVERYTHING. and the more unique and item looks the more readily you can spot it if it does take a stroll down the unit.

Asfor buying a scope try online foirst far better deals then stores who rarely have slaes. Ilike the prices at allheart.com and they have a generic brand as well that has tested out to be realitivly good.

I agree with others go for the best you can afford, but i would avoid the spraugue, its cheap and comes in various colors, thus seen on many tv shows like scrubs. But they fall apart sooooo easily. We had a girl whose broke on the floor at clinical infront of her pt, a doc, and anurse from the floor... not good!

I'd go for a cheap one initially, maybe the low end Littmans.
