I've worked both med/surg and stepdown/PCU, both have their pros and cons. I like PCU a little better due to the higher acuity and lower patient ratio. Stepdown units are very busy but you can learn a lot and the experience is very marketable. That said, I would heavily advise you to stay in your current position until you've been there at least a year unless there are extenuating circumstances such as a toxic work culture or you're in danger of losing your current position.
You might also want to change your username to something more anonymous, it's usually recommended on this site.

I graduated in May 2020. I got a job working on a surgical oncology floor. I just recently got a job offer, for more pay and at the hospital I initially wanted to work at, but it’s in step down/covid. I’ve been at my current job for 6 months. I just need advice as to what step down is like. My current ratio is 6:1 and in step down it would be 3:1, but I know in step down they are more sick. Please share some advice
