I completed my first semester of the LVN program at my local junior college. I'm debating on whether I should continue and finish the remaining two. I'm hearing there are no jobs and no one hires LVN's anymore. If there is a job opening it's closed to new graduates, only experienced nurses need apply. I live in California, Bay area and through my job research I can attest this is the case. Can any one give me any advice if this is a course I should still pursue?

If it were me...I would continue. I will be starting my LPN program this August. I choose this route because ...if nothing else it is a stepping stone to higher degree programs....ADN, BSN,MSN ect. Good luck and hang in there!

I would stick it out, there are options for you once you complete your LVN degree. You could possibly do something in the medical field and get some experience so by the time you get your BSN you will have that experience (if you desire to go any further).
Thanks for your support! It is such a hard decision part of me wants to go back and part of me doesn't. More than likely I'll be heading back into the program next month and I'll take it from there.
