I need statistics as a co-rec for ISU(not till much later). I'm supposed to test out at EC, I went to the website to get study guide (just to get and idea) and it says that the test will be retired as of Dec.31,2007.

Does anyone know what ISU will be accepting in place of EC test out?

I took the EC stats via their on-line course. It wasn't too bad. I don't know of any exams for stats...i think you will have to take the course. You could maybe try a community college if you don't want to do the EC course.

Did you test out through EC or take the actual on line course that they offer ?

I printed the EC study content guide and they say it will be retired as of Dec 31,2007.

I took the on-line course they offered over 4 months.

Thomas Edison state college in New Jersey has their own test for stats. It is $150 credit (the exam is 3 credits). If you go to their web site and look under ways to earn credits you will see that they offer an exam as well as independent learning course work. They are regionally accredited, so this may work for you!

Dantes offers a Statistics test out. I am emailing Dr. Miller right now to ask and see if it will be accepted. ISU accepts other Dantes exams so I don't see why they wouldn't accept this one.

And the dantes is cheaper than the EC test. I hope they do will you let me know. If not I guess that would be one of the classes that I would have to take at the CC.

Just heard back from Dr. Miller, they will accept Dantes Stats but...I did some reading and I don't think statistics is an easy course to test out of....not impossible but not a breeze either.

Ever heard of this site http://www.instacert.com/ ? I think it is the coolest thing. I just enrolled. For $20 a month you register and they have online study questions for lots of test outs that we need. I am studying for the Gerontology test right now...there are four hundred questions for it and from what I have read on the forums at the instacert site the system works really well. They have a 30 day money back guarentee if you don't like it too.

Yes I posted a few days ago to ask Lunah about it I was the website link she posted in another thread. I think one of the ways that I was able to pass Nclex was from using the Q&A on the cd's. I'm love reading romance drama....lol But not a big read text book x from front to back. I retain more with the question and rationale...... I am thinking of taking a few of the pre rec's at CC instead of testing out, the ones that I feel that maybe hard for me to test out and also to get my feet wet with college.....lol

Also what I like about instacert is that you can study multiple courses instead of paying for just one like some of the other study sites.
