I am new and this is actually my first posting/question. I just started the AO RN-BSN at UTA. I make pretty good grades in just about all areas with the exception of math. I took Contemporary Math many years ago and have been told that I do not have to take any prereqs for Stats at UTA. However, I have heard horror stories about the Stats Class at UTA (15 weeks class). I am wondering if I should just bite the bullet and get it over with or take it at the very end. Also, would hiring a tutor be of any great help? Are there any Stat classes that I can take online and that are "open-book" and offer exams that are not proctored? I am seriously getting major anxiety thinking about Stats.

Portage Learning. I SUCK at math, but I literally got a 100% on each exam in their Intro to Stats class. It is not proctored and only costs $598.
Perfect! Thanks so much. I will for sure check it out. Appreciate it!

I might have to do the same, the STATS class is a nightmare. The professor is amazing, but the material is intense.
Update: I just basically finished MATH1308 Elementary Statistics at the University of Texas at Arlington. Depending on where you take Stats, it can be a tough course. UTA Stats is tough to the tenth power. Be prepared to spend many hours on homework, tests, quizzes, and a group project that is interwoven into the course. My advice is to definitely take advantage of the extra credit opportunities that are made ava. It literally could mean pass or fail at the end. The professor and coach were great. They want you to succeed. It's a great feeling of accomplishment to make it through any course, but making it through this course feels like I climbed Mt. Everest. I am proud of myself- I worked hard!
