I'm going to in the nursing program in the spring of 2011. I was wondering if we can take the CNA exam and become a CNA after the first semester in nursing school in NJ. thank you

I believe no matter where you are, it depends on how your schooling as set up its semesters. My friends nursing school, for example, didn't get all the required courses for CNA until second term, but mine purposely scheduled the courses first term so that students could take the CNA course if they wanted.

I believe you can skip the CNA course and directly apply for the CNA exam after one semester of nursing school. My coworker did that after one semester at Helene Fuld. Good Luck!
