Does anybody know when these three states began requiring prospective nurses to take State Boards? There is a woman that has stated she worked as a nurse in these three states and never was required to take any State exam. This would have been in the time period of 1968-ish to 1976 or so. I was under the impression that there was always a state board exam.Thanks.Sue
Reese2012 267 Posts Has 3 years experience. Aug 5, 2011 I am not aware. I do know my mom became a nurse in the late 70's early 80's. She had to take the test, because I remeber her saying, that on her honeymoon she was waiting for the results.
