Starting a Travel Company Just for my Mother

Published

Hello everyone,

I am looking for some in depth info on starting a company just for my mother and no others. She has been a travel nurse for 5 years now is is fed up with the agency's out there. She has used about 37 different travel companys and has worked in 21 states. Some states she had to get a license in. I bought last year a online package on starting a travel company and am a little stuck. We have the Business name registered, a business bank account, a EIN number, and some other stuff. I guess this question goes out to those who have already started a travel company for themselves. I am looking for some guidance to work one on one with a Q/A, through email, phone, doesn't matter. She just wants to concentrate on working and I will be the one finding her jobs etc. Anyone interested in helping us out? Thanks in advance.

btw: we are in PA

Hello everyone,

Ok--- I'll bite. Number one, working with family can be difficult, if not impossible. Working with a mother who's been a travel nurse for 5 years, used *37* different companies and worked in *21* states??? Do you really want that hassel? What was wrong with the 37 companies in 5 years, and 21 states in 5 years, that she needs you to set up a company and create a job for her?

With that track record, I wouldn't hire her, and I'd recommend you didn't work with her. And if that's not a true representation, as presented by you (as her "boss/ contractor"), she shouldn't work with you.

I am actually looking for help and guidance not negativeness. Thanks for your discouragement.

Word to the wise, you may get answers you don't like. Advice is meant to be given, not taken. I do think Hellerd has a valid point though, however unsolicited his/her words may have been. Hopefully, you'll find the info you need whether here or elsewhere. Good luck.
