Starting Sonoma State DEMSN in Jan '08

Specializes in NICU Someday, I Hope.

A couple of weeks back I got my admission e-mail to the Sonoma State DEMSN program. I can't wait to get started and it's driving me crazy that I have to wait until January but I can put the time to good use in getting my life organized for the pace of the 18-month duration.

Is anybody here going to be part of my cohort? Where are you from? What kinds of degrees and experience are you bringing into the program? Are you going to the reception later this month?

Is there anybody who's gone through the program already? What did you think? Any advice?

Specializes in Behavioral Health.

im thinking of enrolling into this program, are satisfied with the program? thanks for any info.

Well, how is the DEMSN at SSU? Is it REALLY 80hrs/wk? Could I stayed married and even mother my children and do this program? I really like to know what it takes.

Give us the scoop.

Hi Beggar,

I just read your old thread. A little late, but I'm curious to know how you like/liked the program? How are your clinicals? What is the typical day for a nursing student? Did you receive your CNA cert. before starting the program? What would you suggest I do to increase my chances of getting into the program? GPA? Volunteer experience? Grades? What do they look for in an ideal candidate? The 2010 cohort has already begun and the next cohort starts in Jan 2012 -- I'm hoping to apply if I don't get in else where. That's 2 years from now. I better start working on my States ;) I hope you enjoyed the program. Take Care!

Hi Everyone,

I'm planning to apply to the program next year and I was just wondering if letters of recommendation are required. If yes, how many??
