Hi everyone,
I need some advice on how to do a porfolio for nursing school. My school requires those applying to nursing to do an admission portfolio, and they asked to be creative. I truly don't know how to start. It requires a cover sheet with my name, address, phone number, etc;but I don't know how to format it, which is section 1. Section 2 is the resume composed of Educational history, Employment hx.,Volunteer hx.(what if I've never volunteered?), and achievements. 3rd section asks me 10 personal and challenging questions. How can I format this and make it look professional. Also, should I add a binder and mail it, I can't take it personally because the school is 2 hours away from where I live. Anyways, it tells me to address each question separately, what does that mean? Do I put each question in a different page. Please Help!
Thanks :)

Not sure about format, etc, but wanted to comment on volunteer hx.
Have you ever volunteered to teach a Sunday school, etc class at a local church, or volunteered at to help at a local school? This is still volunteering.
I'm just trying to dig up ideas for you.
Good luck!

HI,
Actually I volunteered at a local church about a year ago. I also volunteered when I was 13-16 years of age at a sunday school church. So might that be a problem It was so long ago, should I add it on to my Volunteer hx. although I was so young, 8 years ago. Watcha think?
P.S. Would you know if I would need evidence, an exact date of volunteering, because after 8 years I don't know if a church would still have that information. Also it doesn't say if I can add more than one Volunteer place. It says to be creative and make it look like a resume.
Sorry for asking so many questions, But I just wanna make it clear.
Well, with a resume, you are supposed to add any jobs that pertain to what you are applying for (if any) or any jobs that didn't but were in between jobs. Get it? lol Nursing job, Wal-mart Greeter, Nursing job. lol
As for volunteering....if it looks good, I think I'd use it. As for the church, if you could figure out the average time, 2 hours a week for 3 years, etc, or figure the dates, say June 97 to December 98., or 96-99..then they may sign it.
You may also try finding out if they keep records like that. It never hurts to ask.
You volunteered your time, life stepped up, then you volunteered your time again. Typical resume.
