Hi everyone!

I've been putting in PICCs at the bedside for awhile now and its time to start my own LLC. I am having difficulty figuring out how to get this done. I need accounts! I have come to understand that for nursing homes, I probably need to go through the pharmacy, but I don't know what to expect as to payment. I also am unsure as to the approach so they would use my services. I also think I want to service the smaller hospitals who cannot afford to have a picc team. Then, there is oncology where piccs are being used more and more, as well as home health. I want to do piccs wherever they are needed. I'm ready to go LLC but I need to know about pricing and acquiring accounts! Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

As always, thanks for your help!

I would first do research online to see if you can find other nurses who are doing this as a business model. I've written many articles on nurses in business but don't recall coming across nurses who are putting picc lines in at home as their business. I work Oncology home health 2 days a week and all picc lines are done prior to discharge or as an output at the local hospital.

The best way to get started is to find another nurse who is doing this and contact her to talk about how to get started.

Good Luck!

I am trying to do something similar so I am very interested in your journey. I will be happy to share what I am doing as well. My brother (atty) is helping me and I will be glad to share that info. Feel free to contact me here: [email protected]

I am starting to think about this as well. Have you found any sites you could refer me to? Thanks

Piccme... May I ask how long you have been placing Picc lines? I live in a rural area and work in a community hospital's ER. Our area currently has no Picc line insertion services and while our need is not great, I believe it warrants further investigation. I am scheduled to attend a Picc line workshop the beginning of July. My ultimate goal, as is yours, is to open my own business one day and service my community. With that in mind what pointers could you give me as to gaining experience at the bedside? I have a great relationship with both our hopsice medical director and home health medical director and I believe it will serve me well in the future. I believe my problem may lie in gaining enough experience to become proficient at the trade without having to leave "town".

I am interested in placing PICCs in the Nursing Homes and homes. I was wondering, since you posted that massage, have you had any success with that idea. Thank you.
