Hey everyone!
I'm a new graduate and am relocating to Charleston, SC. Can anyone give me any insight into what the starting pay is for RN's in the area? I know there are quite a few hospitals there and all have different pay rates, but a general idea would really help me out as far as budgeting. Thank you!

I think I'm starting at 22-something. (I thought I heard $23.75 but that sounds really high, so I'm thinking I heard wrong.) I should probably know that for sure, but I was just glad they offered me the job! Good luck!

To me this is a big problem in nursing, nobody wanting to work as a team. Wouldn't you want the best possible teammates you could find? It seems to me by saying what hospital is hiring, that would send many qualified applicants your way to be good teammates. Instead, its a big secret.
Who is hiring new grads wasn't the question. I would be happy to volunteer which hospitals in the area have hired new grads, but that wasn't asked. (But if you really want to know, classmates have found jobs at MUSC, Trident, Trident Summerville, and St. Francis.)

He probably feels like he is discussing HIS salary, which is grounds for termination!

Im not sure about MUSC. But I know the starting pay for new grads at Trident/Summerville Hospitals a couple years ago was 22.75 and at Roper/St Francis was 23.06. Hope that helps.
