What state do you come from? I live in WA state and nursing programs are all a bit different. Some look at GPA, general entrance test scores, volunteer work, experience, etc. Some look only at GPA or test scores from something such as the TEAS test. I suggest doing your prerequisites at a community college- it was much better for me to concentrate because the classes are smaller and the professors know you by name and know when you miss class. I did awful when I went to WSU my freshman year and did much better in small classes (granted I had matured a bit since the WSU days). But overall, aim for A's in your classes and get your CNA license and work at a nursing home. That's the best advice I've got. And don't put too much on your plate! Slow and steady wins the race :-)
I didn't think the prereqs were terribly hard. I made all A's in them. Work really hard on vocab and english, that's what get's people in trouble on the entrance exam. Only thing that will help your chances is good grades and good entrance exam. You can buy a hesi study book and start now. Good luck!

I am looking for advice on what to expect when taking pre requisite courses. How did you get through the first year, was it hard, what can I do to heighten my chances of getting accepted into the nursing program. Any advice is welcome and appreciated!!!! I look forward to conversing with you all!
