Starting as an LPN

Published

Hi there, I've started with pre reqs and applied to Platt in Denver but was denied this cohort. Hoping to be accepting into the September program but I am waiting until July 25th to hear their decision. After that I'll have to find other programs to apply for. I don't have half as many pre reqs as I would need to for a University program so I am looking towards private schools or integrated ones.

Should I start as an LPN if I'm not accepted this time? If so, there are programs available at Pickens Tech and Concorde (both 10 months and little pre reqs required).

Thanks in advance, I'm starting to feel discouraged seeing all of the other nursing students being accepted and whatnot.

Do what is best for you. Research LPN to RN programs in your area, is it worth it to go that route? Is your end goal to have your RN?

I've looked on indeed and there are a lot of places still hiring LPNs. There seem to be a lot of LPN-BSN bridge programs. I'm just not sure what my next step is, to get my foot in the door or to keep applying.
