Starting Lake Tech, Eustis FL F/T program in July

Hi everyone,

I got my letter last week. I will be starting the F/T LPN program at Lake Tech in Eustis FL on July 17, 2013. I'm so excited! Is there anyone else starting? Also does anyone know where I can get an affordable physical and shots in the Lady Lake/Leesburg area (w/o insurance)?

Update... I hope this helps others looking for physicals. Express Care in Leesburg charges $80.00 for an adult physical. Vaccines-- MMR $42. Tetorifice $54. Hepatitis B Tier $154. each shot. I found one place that charge $75.00 for the physical but the vaccines were more money. :up:

Hi, I was accepted into the day program as well! Have you had any difficulty registering?

I haven't tried to register yet. I just finished with all the shots/tests. I get the TB test results on Friday, so I am going to register at the school on Monday. I already purchased all the books online. I spoke to the school and they have an accident policy we can purchase in case something happens during clinical rotations.

Did they give you a book list to order books?

If you go on the schools website there is a link at the top of the page that says online book store.

Click on that, then click on 2012/2013, this will open up all the different types of classes they offer click on AM practical nursing, this will bring you to the instructors name and click on that. That is our entire list. I found good prices on half.com but I also used textbookspyder.com to find the best prices. I order my stethoscope and scrubs from allheart.com but I used the price guarantee, steeles.com had a lower price so they matched it. Let me know if I can be of more help...:) I love to share a good deal

I had seen that but when I spoke to Mrs. V she said that they haven't decided on the books yet but that they would provide us with a list so I only bought and dug into the Math for Med's Book...

OMG... I hope they don't change anything. I actually called and asked a lady at the office and also spoke to the book store. They didn't know anything about updating the editions. (There are some newer editions available). Ms. V was on vacation the week I called. I will keep my fingers crossed that I didn't just waste a bunch of money.

I went and registered today. It's pretty easy. I got my Math for Meds last night. I started to review this morning. Did you register yet?
