Hello! I'm starting at the Dallas Nursing Institute on June 30th for the LVN Program and I'm a little nervures but really just ready to start. Anyhow I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what I could do with my time while waiting a month to start school so I could be a little ahead since I'm really doing nothing with my time now. I'm 5mos pregnant and have nothing to do with my time. I plan to start school and by time my baby is active ill be at least 8mos through school and I don't plan on working until I'm done with school because I really just want to put all of my focus on nursing so I can get the schooling over with. So is there any advice of what I could be doing with my time now to prepare me for school?

Well first & foremost I want to say CONRATS!!! I am hoping I will be in class w/ you come June 30th but first I have to re-take the math portion of the HESI (please pray). Now to answer you question if I were you just sit back and relax while you can I know from friends that once you are in school it is NO JOKE so relax while you can LOL. Plus you are with child so don't stress yourself; June 30th will be here before you know it, shoot May is almost over
I also had to take the math portion twice and I really hate math but some how I got through it lol.. Anyhow I will pray for you and dont worry you will make it on the second try.. Thanks!!
Thank you, hey quick questions so what is your schedule? Like what days & times will you be going to school?
I'm taking the day class and they told me the hours were 8am-3 30pm mon-Friday but my friend started in May and was told the same thing but she told me only Tuesday and Thursday from 8am-3 30pm and Mon,Wed, Fri is from 12pm-3 30pm.

how are things going with the school? Are there any tips you can give a future student?

I just graduated from DNI in June....Good luck to those enrolled now, and to the above asking about future student, you need to call the school....they are NO longer accepting students.....you can Google and get all the info.
I as a new grad am REALLY frustrated with the school....2 months later and not one job interview from the career services department, OH wait.....they sent me 90 mins from home to a facility I would not my worst enemy in!
they call on Thursday and say dont make plans we have an interview for you tomorrow, I ask where and they say we will call you back.,...yeah that was 3 weeks ago and in the meantime, another student filled that job ON HER OWN!@
I have applied and applied and APPLIED everywhere I can think of and NOTHING!
while in school it was VERY unorganized, very diffucult to get any answers....you really had to just stand at the desk till you got someone!
and for those wondering...only 2 people in my class graduated with a 3.25 or above(class was 45 people)...I had a 3.19, only 5 out of 45 passed the exit exam the 1st time (yes I was one) passed my NCLEX first time with only 85 questions......and about 16 people in my class are STILL waiting to take the HESI Exit the 3rd time....school it dragging rear-ends with them! We graduated 6-4-11 and they are STILL waiting!
If I knew now what I did not knoiw 18 months ago........
