Starting clinical Fall 05 at DTCC (stanton)

Specializes in I don't have much experiance yet..

Hello, everyone! :wink2: My name is Jennifer (26y/o). I am going to be starting clinical at Stanton Campus this Aug. (05). :nurse: I have finally finished all the prerequisites. I even took a few courses for BSN, while I waited one semester to get a seat in clinical. I was almost in last Jan (I was #4 alternate) but not enough people dropped. I am actually glad, though. If I started in Jan, I would have been part time b/c that's all that was open. I am going to be going fulltime so that I can get done as soon as possible. Needless to say, I am so excited to be starting clinical. Of course I am really nervous, as well. :o Is there anyone else starting clinical with me?

Jennifer

Hi I am not starting clinicals, I am still taking classes for them. I was wondering if you would be able to say how many points you had, or the lowest amount of points you heard got into clinicals

-Thanks

Hello

As far as how many points you need, I don't know. What it is, the school will give you so many points if you pass the NLN(pre-entrance exam), no points if you don't, then for certain prereqs. they will give so many points for an A, so many for a B, and something for a C. Tehn they tally your points and out of all the students trying to get in, who ever has the highest points get in 1st.

The pre-entrance exam is , as I said, the NLN. They give it once a year in Feb. To Take the NLN you have to have passed certain Prereqs.

I hope I have helped.
