Does anyone's hospitals have stuff like this? This hospital that I really really want to work at that is also hard to get a job at has this Star Internship program in the summer only for students that will be graduating by that next summer. So first year students. I REALLY REALLY want to get one of the spots.
I had planned on enjoying my summer and road tripping with my kids, but I did that last summer and if getting this spot got my foot in the door at the hospital then I want to take it.
I wish I knew the odds of applicants to spots, then again maybe I don't.
I have no previous medical experience other then being a patient. I have been a SAHM for the past 9 years minus 7 months I worked a couple years ago when I moved to CO, I was pregnant and my 3 boys were all in school so I got a desk job rather then sit home all day doing nothing.
All these students in my class have recent work experience, or health care experience and so on, so I don't know what my chances are but man I sure hope I get it.
If anyone has done something like this how was it? Did you find it to be useful and worth your while?
It seems like a really great opportunity, it is even paid but honestly I would do it for free just for the experience and to get my foot in the door. It's for 11 weeks and will be all different shifts full time.

Bumping this up so hopefully someone might see it and has done this. I guess maybe I should have asked this in the general nursing section since those that have done it might have graduated already.
