Stanford RN Residency March 2015

Published

Just starting a thread for those applying for Stanford's March 2015 Residency Program. Good luck to everyone! I believe the deadline to apply is the 24th.

I work with someone that used to be in Stanford Hr a few years ago. He said in process back then meant they were going to offer a phone interview. I dunno if that's the case anymore but he thinks it's too soon to be at that stage

My application also still says "Application in Review", and it hasn't changed. It's been like that since the day. I heard they did send out rejection letters though...it must have been from the questionnaire; I believe it automatically screens applicants and if you don't score a certain amount, the system automatically rejects you (I believe the emails were sent out about a few days to a week after submission). Several classmates of mine got it :/ But I'm glad I'm still in the running! I just wish I knew what is going on now...

I also applied to UC Davis. I don't graduate until the end of December.

I applied to UC davis too! My status still says "020 Appl" GRRRR!!! lol. I just wanna know if anything has changed. I'm so nervous! Are you from the bay area / go to school around here? I'm in SJ.

Anyone get called for an interview? My app still says "in review" it hasn't been updated since the day after I applied.

The status date on mine changed from the day after I applied to 12/23/14 and it still says application in review. I wonder if they change your status if you're no longer being considered.

cl2121. That is a good sign. It's just saying they updated your file on that date. You would see "no longer being considered", as well as a rejection email. This is my second attempt at applying for this program, as I graduated in May of 2014. They updated my account on the 23rd and sent a rejection. Hope it works out for you guys fresh in the market place, it's not easy. My friend got in the program last time so it is possible!

Have you heard anything else since your date updated?

Thanks for the info! I haven't heard anything since my date changed.

Hi guys! Thanks for all your updates!! Mine still says "application in review" with a date of 12/1/14. I am nervous! Good Luck everyone!!

Happy New Years Eve

I cannot express how EXCITED I am for all of you who will be given the privilege of this residency program. I went through one at "MOTHER BAYLOR" University in Dallas, Tx., 1981, yeah, I'm an older gal), the experience was beyond phenomenal.!! I'm JEALOUS, I'd like to do it again. Those were great days, work your a.. off all day, crash at nite, party on the weekends. My first summer is a blurr (it was a 2yr program). But you GOT IT! AND, working among and with all those wonderful interns, residents, they are learning too, don't forget. You can learn alot from each other, and dont be shy to ask questions. If they don't know, they are good about asking a colleague or their Sr. Resident, or even the guy over their program. It's a wonderful environment for learning from all sides. I am truly envious, oh, but be sure and ask your preceptor first, if he/she is available. Don't want to give the wrong impression! Remember a few things: DON'T be afraid, you are learning. There is no shame in being ignorant, raise your hand, ask someone to teach you what you don't know, or dont remember. There will be ALOT you will say later " oh, I knew that", you were just overwhelmed and forgot at the time. It's like being in first grade all over again, EXCITEMENT and WONDER. Let it EAT YOU UP like I did. I couldn't get enough. And one other thing ladies and gentlemen. I wish someone had told me, I would have suffered less indigestion. You can only control your own actions, you are responsible for your own state of mind, not the state of mind of others who have come to work looking to dump on someone else. It is a reality. Try to recognize it, and rise above it. It has NOTHING to do with you. Go on about your business of taking care of your patients and learning. THAT is your priority. AND DO YOUR BEST! GODSPEED! Each and everyone of you.

I got called for an interview right before the holidays. Interviews will be conducted late January. Just thought I would post an update.

Good luck eveyone:)

Just an update: I received a call this morning from HR for an interview on the 29th.
