hello again,
there is a question that I have doubt between two options, and the question is that a palliative patient says goodbye to his family and does not eat his meal. in what stage of grief he is in?
a. depression
b. Acceptance
I am not sure coz palliative patients do not have so much appetite, but at least they do eat. I don't know which one is the correct option. I would really appreciate any response. thanks

Do you have any thoughts about one vs the other? Were there any other choices?
the other choices are
c. withdrawal
d. denial
I am sure that these two are not the correct answers

Is that the entire question or is that a reworded version?
It is the reworded version but I remember that the question was asking the same content
I personally think it is a strange question. Out of those choices I would go with depression, but I feel like there is something missing in the question to help me answer it.

Nope, there is nothing missing. The pt is in the depression stage.

I'd say the patient has accepted his impeding death. If he was pushing away his meal and saying things like "doesn't matter if i eat or not, i'm going to die anyway," i might think he was in the depression stage. This patient, however, has said good-bye to his family, which to me is more telling than the part about not eating. People who haven't accepted the fact that they are dying don't say final farewells to family members.
