Hello Nurses! I love being a nurse, don't get me wrong, but some time, I think I wanted to venture into something different and I wonder if you know any institutions that supports staff nurses in venturing into being an MD? Like, the nurse can still work as a staff nurse while studying doctor of medicine? :) Thank you so much for the help!

I'm fairly certain that there are very few people who could handle the workload of medical school while also working (even part time). I have 2 dear friends just about to graduate from medical school and seeing what the demands are on them while in school, it would be virtually impossible to even work 1 day/week while also going to school. Why not consider becoming a NP or a PA? I am currently able to work full time while pursuing my NP part time.

Maybe if you are an experienced nurse working a little prn, but even that is doubtful. Med school and clinical requirements are more than a full time job.
Unless you are a true star, managers are not fond of staff that cause endless scheduling problems.
