1st Semester Pharmacology

Nursing Students Student Assist

Published

Hey everyone. So I'm in my first semester of nursing school. I know very exciting, also very nerve racking. I'm learning a lot very fast and they are always adding more and more stuff. I seem to be doing decent in my class, but pharmacology... I'm studying, but when it comes to the exams its like none of the info is sticking. I'm terrified I may fail the class. With all that being said and done I still have enough time to raise my grade and learn the material.

Can anyone give me study tips? Lots of study tips?

I currently read and make med charts and take notes, but some how the info is not sticking..

So any help would be greatly appreciated....

A lot of exams are based at the end of the chapter NCLEX questions or Elsevier questions. But, look at the whole question and cross off the two obvious wrong ones. Typically you don't have to memorize *every* single side effect (as there's about 10-20 per drug) but the most important ones. Use abbreviations (A/N/C/D = Anorexia, Nausea, Cramps [or constipation], Diarrhea) which will help you on your cards. Don't worry, you'll get it.

Greetings.

Attached are 12 Word documents which I made when I took pharmacology. All the information was based on the ATI study guide since that constituted the final exam in our class.

They are formatted as 3x5 cards and were printed on individual 3x5 cards.

Have at 'em if you think they'll help... they certainly worked for me.

Again, they are entirely my own creation based on the information out of the ATI book. I make no promises as to their accuracy (though I rocked pharm so they couldn't be too bad).

Feedback is welcome.
