St. Rose RN Residency 2011 - CHW

Nurses New Nurse

Published

Hi everyone! I made a post for St. Rose's RN residency program so that we could update each other on the interview process. I applied July 20 and haven't heard anything from them yet. I know that they are selecting candidates to complete the assessments from July 11- July 29. It's already the 30th, since I did not recieve an assessment.. does that mean they are already done with the selection process? My status still says "HR REVIEW". Has anyone else heard anything about it/recieved an assessment? Thanks for reading and good luck to you all!

August 1 - August 29:Selected

interviews. Interviews

October 10: St. Rose

Dominican Hospitals orientation begins.

October 17: Newly

Licensed RN Residency Program begins.

It looks like they are still selecting people for the assessment tests. I just recieved a call from the recruiter. I already took the math and nursing career battery test for an interview I had with another CHW hospital, she called to confirm so I won't have to take the test again. Yay!

I took both the assessments a couple weeks ago and my status currently says manager review. Good Luck everyone.

Anyone interviewing on the 18th? I got a letter asking me to show up at 9 am when they will be doing interviews. But the 3 year commitment has me a little freaked out. Does anyone know if you can transfer to another CHW during that time or are you bound to St. Rose/Dominican?

AZWildcatRN, my status also says manager review. Just waiting for that call :)

ElleTea, congrats on getting the interview! Sorry, I don't have an answer for your question, but if you do find out...please share that information with us! And good luck to you :)

I also received the email regarding an interview on Aug 18th @ 9am. Good luck to everyone! Its sounds like this will be a panel interview or a mass interview day with many applicants. Thats jusy the feeling I am getting.

I also received the email for interviewing on the 18th. So, off to Vegas we go! I am leery of the three year commitment, as well; especially since the original job posting said it was a two year commitment.

I have not been a part of "mass interviewing" before. Any insight on what to expect from those who have participated?

Thank you so much.

Good Luck to us all.

Angelinaz - From my experience of doing an interview event... All the candidates they want to interview show up and the interviews are held in one room. All the interviewees sit together in a designated area after signing in and wait to be called by the nurse manager/unit director to be interviewed. Oh and all this is happening in front of everyone in the room. Its not really that bad, I have had 2 interviews like this but the first time was a little shocking but to me, I felt a little bit more relaxed because it didnt seem that formal. Anywhoo, you wont be able to hear what is going on as far as what the interviews are asking and the interviewees response and when your interviewing you dont even hear what is going on around you (at least for me)... I was so focused on the interview, the questions, and my repsonses that I just tuned everyone else out. I hope that helps! Good Luck everyone. I called the RN Recruiter and asked what unit I was interviewing for and I am interviewing for L&D (SO EXCITED!). There are a total of 15 people interviewing for that position and 4 open spots. What units is everyone else interviewing for? Good Luck everyone.

AZWildcatRN: Thank you so much for the information and insight you have provided. I have not ever been part of a panel interview before I look forward to the challenge and experience in Vegas next week.

Sounds like you are excited for the L&D Unit. I am interviewing for the IMC Unit and am tickled pink! The Recruiter I spoke with did not tell me how many spots are open for that unit; however.

Have a safe drive to Vegas. Im not looking forward to the long haul, myself.

Best of Luck to each of us.

Have a safe trip to Vegas and good luck to you all!

Hi! I applied to the residency program that starts in January and I was wondering if any of you could share your experience with the interview process. Also, for those of you who were offered positions, how do you like it so far?

Thanks in advance.
