St. Paul's School of Nursing May 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone. I was just wondering if anyone was applying to SPSON for May 2016 admissions. I want to know, has anyone been accepted yet? Also I'm curious as to what they look at when you're applying. I know they look at your SLE and HESI scores but do they take your GPA into account? I know that they don't have a GPA requirement so I'm unsure. Thanks for the help!

Hey ! I am also applying for May 2016. Wondering if you went on your interview already? Any tips?

Well my first tip is dress well because he does comment about that and I believe it sets the tone of the entire interview. Also he will be doing most of the talking (mostly giving you information about the school and asking rhetorical questions). I wasn't asked why I want to be an RN but I was asked things like, what was the hardest moment of your life and how did you overcome it? I definitely over prepared for the interview. Just look up basic interview questions and prepare answers you'll be ok. He's really nice and once he starts talking you'll feel more relaxed (you'll see what I mean).

Thanks a lot :) interview tomorrow!

Hope it goes well! Good luck!

Hello! Interview went well! He did do most of the talking lol Super nice guy. Fingers crossed we get in:-)

He said we should know by this month.

Are you interested in evenings or day?

Great job! I am still unsure of whether I want day or evening. I put down that I am interested in day classes but I was told I can change later on before the schedule is made. I heard it's better to take evening classes and find friends who are taking the day classes so they can give you tips on exams and stuff, but i'm not really interested in that. Good chance i'll just stick with the day classes since im a morning person. What about you? and also are you transferring from an undergrad college? if so, how were your grades? I did well on the HESI and the president seemed impressed (even though it wasn't that hard) and I have some clinical experience but my grades are whats weighing me down. How'd you do on HESI?

Evening for me because of work.

I will be transferring the basics ( A&P 1, ENG, SOC etc) I'm a B student so not too bad.

Hesi – 96 math 86 english

During the interview we didn't discuss my hesi score- should I be worried? lol

How'd you do?

I only did a tad bit better. I had 100 for math and a 91 for english. I also got a 32 out of 50 for the sle which he was impressed by idk why. I dont think its a big deal he didnt mention it for you since you do have better grades than me. I was a C/C+student. However, my friend that is attending the staten island campus was academically dismissed from her college before applying and she was still accepted. Hope we get in!

WOW! you did great - congrats!!! we are deff getting in lol lets stay positive ;-)

Hey I got my acceptance letter by e-mail today!

Hey ! Guess what ... Me too lol congrats!!!!
