St. Luke's College vs. Central Missouri

Published

I will be pursing my BSN, and I have finally narrowed down my choices of nursing school to the University of Central Missouri and St. Luke's College. I would love to hear about experiences at either school: pro/cons, environment, schedule, clinical sites, how prepared you feel, professors, class size, how much is online, anything! Both options seem great, but I want to be involved in the program that I feel most comfortable in and that will prepare me most to be a nurse. Thank you!

Over and over I am told "Any school is what you make of it". I am also considering St. Lukes, as well as Avila, KU and William Jewell. My sister in law will be graduating from St. Luke's next month and she has has wonderful things to say about them.

Did you by chance make it to the open house they had a few weeks ago? It was very helpful. They have a good program and their hospitals are excellent. My goal is to be an ICU nurse, and my grandpa had a stroke in December, so I got a lot of time to observe St. Lukes Plaza's ICU. They were awesome! This is why I chose to put them on my list of schools I am applying to.

I actually found out about the open house the day after it was held, but I hope they have another one soon. I would love to check it out! I also want to be an ICU nurse. So great to hear that they have a good experience for those of us who are interested in that area.

I appreciate your help! Thank you!

Do you know which semester you are hoping to start nursing in? The cutoff for applications for St Luke's 2016 spring class is in June.

I won't enter nursing school until fall 2017. I'm a violently prepared senior in high school :) Because I have so many hours done through AP credit, where I will go/plan to go dictates the classes I need to take this coming semester. Luckily, the classes I need for either school are only different by two classes. I'm just trying to see which school would be the best fit for me, but I have time!

Wow, well good for you! That is awesome! There are several seniors going straight into St. Luke's nursing program bc of all the AP classes they took as well.
