Does anyone know if St John Riverside Hospital is hiring right now? Also, how the hiring process like?

Hi,

I would have loved to leave a positive light on this facility. however, i can tell you how they operate...I applied there numerous times...and i mean ALOT of times...they ALWAYS have positions...the problem is that they are extremely selective on their employers...I decided to just call the unit manager on the unit that i was interested to seek employment...just to try my luck...bingo!...i got the manager...the manager was very nice and after 8 long months of applying to different hospitals i finally scored an interview...i was so excited...i went in for the interview...everything went great..according to hospital policy they are to call you for an interview, have you take a med math exam (very basic) and then once the manager scores it...they determine if they give the position based on your examination scores...great..no problem...after i met with the manager she had me schedule for the exam...prior to this she even allowed me to speak with a "new grad" who had started on the same unit 2 months prior...fine...all went well...before i took the exam unit manger calls me on a friday and offers me the position..at this point i am ellated...i even started to cry b/c i thought that after so long i finally landed a hospital position...so on exam day (follwing tuesday) i take the exam and pass...i called 2 days post exam to speak to the manager and to confirm orientation dates and everything and well...she then tells me she cannot promise me the position b/c internal applicants are being considered...mind you...on interview day she tells me that she has already given all considered internal applicants positions she had...after that she then tells me she'll give me a part time position...ok...cool...TWO whole weeks go by and i hear nothing...i call back and it took me another week to get in contact with her...i even called HR to see if maybe she may have gone on vacation...no...even HR couldnt reach her...so one week later i called HR and explained to them my situation...when HR gets in contact with the manager she tells HR that she will call me but not now b/c shes interviewing other candidates...are you getting my frustration?..lol...smh...so all and all...thank god i have a job ..not where i really want to be but just imagine if i have given my resignation i would have had NO JOB, and im glad i didnt even tell my present employer i was hired elsewhere...remember its a very small community hospital and everyone knows everyone...so that may be a good or bad thing...they're benefits are good..they're union...i mean..it would have been a great start...but the way the manager handled the entire process was just dead wrong...now that i have been through this horrible experience the only time i believe a manager that i have been hired will be when im actually sitting the day of orientation...St johns also saves slots for they're new oncoming new grads from cochran school of nursing...i think that facility has a HUGE revolving door...glad i didnt go through them..who knows..god knows what he does and that was a sign for me NOT to work for ST Johns...who knows maybe someone else had better experiences..but if you are considered take what you can get...just be careful if they do offer you a position..do not resign from you present job until you are sitting in their classroom for orientation!:lol2:Good Luck..
