St. Joes or St. Francis

Any nurses out there that work for either of these hospitals, could you give me your opinions as to what you like/don't like etc.. I have received job offers at both places and don't know which one to choose. Thank you for your help!

I would take neither, but that is just me!

Thanks for the reply, but can you tell me why? I want to make the right decision, and advice from nurses who may have information would really help me. :)

Sure, glad to share. I did agency at St. Joe's, St. Frances, and St. Claires, and the good experience out of the several times I have been at either of these hospital amount to only one decent shift!

At none of these hospitals did I find team work, good communication, or adequate staffing! Let me put if this way, ...if I was still working in nursing, and was broke and homeless, I would still not go to work at either of these hospitals! St. Frances has some very mean, and vindictive folks working there!

I enjoyed working in St Francis's ICU. I found the people there to be very helpful and kind to agency folk. St. Joe's was a little more stand-offish. They weren't mean or demeaning or anything, it was mostly "I'm doing my work and you do yours" kind of thing. So based on that I would say St. Francis, but again I have only worked their ICU.

Hope this helps

Pat
