St. Elizabeth's Medical Center

Can someone please tell me how much a new grad gets for base pay at St. Elizabeth's? And what the night shift differential is? I have 2 years of acute medical/surgical experience and I am trying to figure out how much I might be offered if an interview goes well!

Thanks!

If you have 2 years acute care experience then you would be paid the rate of a 2 yr nurse, not a new grad, right? Sorry I don't know about St. E's specifically but that thought popped into my head when I read your post. You would be on a different level than a new grad.

I work at St E's. Our union dues are about $800/year!! Ick. I am not a fan of unions, and am leaving this hospital after 3 years.

I have 8 years experience and make about $40/hr.

Night diff is $6/hr. I dont have my union book on me, so I can't tell you what 2 years exp is off hand... :)

I am a new grad and have applied at St. E's. Do you know how long it typically takes to hear back if you do fit the criteria for an interview? I am getting discouraged with trying to find a job being a new grad and no experience except for clinical. Any advice would be great. Thanks

IMO, you have to be very forward when applying for nursing jobs- experience or not. I typically send my resume and then call HR 2-3 business days later.

I've also been known to call the hospital, ask for the dept you are applying into, ask for the nurse mgr, and then call them telling them you have sent a resume and are really eager to hear back. As a mgr, I would hire someone that had gone through the effort of calling me over someone who hasn't, so thats my rational. Its worked out for me well, as I've never had a dry spell in work!

I know there were just 14 layoffs in Neuro/Uro and one of the med surg units. Thats tough because that means they just laid off all the least senior nurses (since its union).
