@ddavis250 Hey! I will be applying to the DSC/UCF concurrent program in spring of 2020 and I am nervous that its going to be too much. I completed all my prerequisite course work with a 3.9 GPA. May I ask how you did and how you liked it? Was is overwhelming? Thanks in advance!

Hey! I was hoping someone here could help me out. I was just accepted into the nursing program. I am debating on if I should go concurrent or traditional route (I will still get my BSN, but through SSC).... Can you tell me how much work the extra class is with UCF? I have 4 kids and I know I will miss things, I am just nervous as to how much extra work the extra UCF courses are? Are they a lot of extra work?
Thank you for your help.

Hi. I am in the concurrent program. If I’m not mistaken if you feel the concurrent program work is too much then you can drop the concurrent program and switch to traditional. Now if you’re taking concurrent classes they may still count towards your GPA until you finish that class. But, moving onto the next semester I think you can switch to traditional if you change your mind. you’ll have to talk to the nursing department to figure it out and confirm. As far as the course load it goes it’s a lot of busy work that you can finish in a few hours if you dedicate a day to it.As far as the course load it goes it’s a lot of busy work that you can finish if you dedicate a day to it.

I haven’t started yet, and I got accepted to both - I have to send in my decision by Wednesday, so I am just trying to figure out which to accept! Thank you so much for answering. I think I’m just nervous for the extra time commitment.

I am first semester in concurrent and just finished the UCF class. I honestly thought it was extremely easy. You have to do a paragraph journal entry and another "busy work" assignment each week, plus like 4 quizzes that have the answer keys attached, one final exam that is easy (our class average on the final was 96%) and one 3 page research paper that is 50% of your grade. I thought it was one of the easier classes I've ever taken to be honest and the time commitment was minimal. I don't know if the future semesters will be as easy since I'm not there yet, but that's what I can tell you based on my experience so far. Good luck!
