Hello, I am currently in a program which assigns us to an entire clinical day of pre-ops, practically every week. I am curious if other CRNA programs do this. I understand the importance of performing pre-ops, but I fear this leaves me with less anesthesia experience in comparison to my SRNA peers in other programs.
If you are a SRNA, please chime in regarding your schedule in being assigned to pre-ops. Thank you.

I've had one clinical site where we did preops about every week and a half. I don't think any of my other sites do that.

In my program, at my main clinical site, we pre-oped all of our patients. At another clinical site, we pre-oped ~1/week. I still graduated with over 1000 cases. It's something that is extremely important and something you should get comfortable with. The real question is why are they putting you in pre-op once/week? Is it because they are trying to teach you the value in it, or are there not enough cases for the amount of students they have in clinical? Have previous students had issues with attaining the required numbers?
