Morning everyone!
I found out about SRMC's online program this morning while researching. If i were to obtain my license and have SRMC listed as my school would this hinder applying at certain hospitals? I heard the PA board is trying hard to discredit them? Anyone with any information would be of great help! Thanks so much!

Hi There,
I really don't think you will have a problem. I graduated in August from SRMC online and had a job by the end of August. As long as you have a crefited license you can get a job. what happens after you are licensed has nothing to do with you anymore you earned the license while there was credentials. Good Luck it's a great school

Hello! Newgn88, can you tell me how that program worked for you? Any advice for someone considering the program, would you do it again? Please any advice and info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help!
Hi 1tchr2nurse,
The program worked VERY WELL for me. I am married and have 4 kids so it was wonderful that I could do it at my own pace on my own time. I had clinicals 2 days a week and of course you had deadlines for homework. Tests were at home however finals were in the lab with the proctor. They may be changing that I know the class after me it was like 1 test at home, 1 test in school alternating. I would DEF do it all over again if I had never gone through school. You really have to be dedicated and self disciplined for it to work though because they don't remind you or keep on you to do your stuff. If you don't do it you get zeros and you really need to keep your grades as high as you can. I got a job right out of school on the unit that we did most of the clinicals on so it was awesome because I knew everyone so it was really nice. I would TOTALLY GO FOR IT if you can learn independantly. Any other questions let me know I'd be happy to answer them for you.
Oh thank you so much! I've taken classes online so I'm pretty good with working independently. I am going to look at the website again now that I actually have the chance to talk to someone that did it! They have hospitals already for clinicals right, so its not like you have to look for your own? How long did it take? What area are you from? Thanks again, I will try not to bug you too much.
Hello, I called the school today and I was so relieved to speak to someone that was very nice. It is so discouraging to call a school excited and nervous at the same time and the person who answers is trying to get off the phone before you even speak. I schools are busy but it really sets the tone. Anyway, I also found out the hospital where I would do clinicals. I am excited already. I am going to apply to the program for fall 2009. I also found out they have an agreement with a college to get an associates degree which could be something to look into.
Hey There,
PM me! You are NOT bothering me AT ALL. I loved my school and love to pass the info along. Are you in VA or PA. I am in PA got a job at the hospital that I did clinicals at and have been VERY HAPPY until I rushed into the boards and didn't pass the first time. I learned from my mistakes though and am doing Suzannes Plan. Only one other girl in my class has taken boards and she did the plan and passed. I wish I would have paid attention to her but I didn't oh well. I'll get it next time. Any questions please PM me would love to chat with you.
Oh sorry forgot to answer that it took 1 1/2 years after all the pre reqs You have 5 semesters and like 180 hours of clinical.
Gonna sound like a crazy question but I just joined so how do I PM? I am in PA too! When you get a chance let me know what have to do to PM so we can chat. Thanks for all your help
