Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone. Is anyone applying at Prairie View medical center in Houston ? For spring 2018?

I have also applied to PV for Spring 2018 and have struggled to find an active forum for applicants of PV for the 2018 spring semester!

I also have an Associate Degree in Science from LSC and this is my first time applying to PV and I also applied to UT (first time also).

Best of luck to you all!

Hello ! Welcome !

Yes I didn't see one open so I created one to chat.

Seems the three of us have some things alike, associates degree and first time applying at Prairie views. Do any of ya have any PVAMU student Ms as friends?

Yes I have one friend who is on her last semester for Prairie View's nursing program, she told me that it should not be too difficult to get accepted there and that they usually give preference to students transferring from the main campus and also to students who have all of their prerequisite courses finished! She managed to get accepted with a 3.2 gpa (overall), but I do know that her overall HESI score was a 94.

Well that's nice to know!

Well my gpa is maybe around there .. will end up hopefully with a little higher once I finish a retake class and economics only class I need to complete pre requisites and HESI I believe was in the 80's

.. so hmm.. crossing fingers .

Do so many students apply there from her knowledge?

Hey guysss! This will also be my first year applying to PVAMU! I also have my Associates in Science, and I applied everywhere( TWU, UT health science, PVAMU, Lonestar RN program) hoping I would get accepted to a program this Spring semester. Best of luck to everyone!!

Has anyone received any information on the confirmation of their application?

You should be fine then! & she didn't really tell me about that, but I did see on their website that they usually receive within 300-400 applicants each semester and accept

I have been searching for a current forum for about a month ! I'm in the process of getting my application ready for FALL 2018.

What are your STATS ? if you guys don't mind me asking.

I hear that it's not as competitive as UT. Lets hope we all get in.

definitely, UT is more competitive, I got waitlisted so don't know how to feel about it lol. I guess was application was been looked at but didn't make it.. but seems Prairie is not many applicants but no telling. Crossing fingers
