Anyone attending the Sac State nursing program in spring 2010? It would great to meet some people going into the program.

Thanks!

Hey Remi, I am attending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulation, are we going to be a classmates? Such a great Thanksgiving we are going to have!!!!!!!!!!! and then our life or no-life will begin. Do you know anyone? I don't. I met one guy and one girl while taking TEAS, but not sure if they made it. Are you excited a lot? Did you take CPR class? I am not and schould find one soon. Well, actually I want to find the one that would be offered at the end of December or in January, so it will cover 2 years of school (from beginning to the end)

I am really glad to meet you here before the school begin.

CONGRATULATION and happy Thanksgiving.:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

Congrats to you!!! Yes, we will be classmates come spring. I have just registered for my BLS class, which I am planning to take mid-December. I graduated from Sac State in 2001 (unrelated field) and returned to Sac State for nursing this past semester. Since I completed all of my pre-reqs at local JCs, I don't know anyone that is starting in the program in the spring.

I am very excited and nervous. I know that this program will be challenging, so I am trying to prepare myself (and my children) for the changes that will soon be taking place.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Yea, classmates!!!:yeah:

This Fall semester is my first one at SacState. I love the campus. Huge trees all around. We have less than 2 months untill it all begins.

I just sent you a PM:loveya:

Thanks for the PM - I would love to PM back, but I don't have the required 15 posts yet.

I am so impressed that you completed your pre-reqs in one year. If you can do that, you should definitely be able to handle nursing school. It took me a little over a year (plus summers) to finish my pre-reqs. My children are a bit younger than yours, so it was difficult to take a full load (something that I only did 1 semester).

My kids are 5, 7 and 9. It is much more difficult to go back to school with kids (as I'm sure you know), but I am a WAY better student now than before kids!

I will pm you with more info. once I am able. If you are comfortable giving out your school email in a pm, that would be great too. I would give you my home email, but don't want to do it on an open forum. It would be great to connect at the orientation so I will know at least one person! :D

Hey, Remi. How are you doing? I forgot that you need to have 15 posts to email. I will give you my personal email so we can talk. About my prereq. I also was doing summer school (2 classes) and took 1 class this fall. What I meant that I started last fall and this fall I applied for the program, so I am not that good. But anyway, we will survive nursing school. Our poor kids, feel sorry for them.

I wonder if there is anyone else who applied to Sacramento State? People where are you? :specs:

I think a lot of people don't know about this great forum. I also was accepted into the program :yeah:, so I'll see you around pretty soon. Just a little bit about myself: male student in his 30's, five kids, changing the carrier. By the way, do you guys know when it's actually starting?

Hi Yuriy, CONGRATULATION:specs:!!! It's great to know more people before the school starts. I also didn't know about this forum until recently. I got here in October. At some point, after reading some posts about our future career, I started to think if I've done a right thing. For me it's also a career changea and I got scared after reading what kind of life some nurses have. But for sure, we got into the school with a great program.:yeah:

I think school starts around January 22-24. So, injoy your family and kids while you can. That's what I'm planning to do!!!

Yuriy,

Congrats to you! You will definitely be busy with 5 kids, wow! See you at orientation =)

Thanks guys! Also did you take a pharmacology at SacState? I'm taking it right now and want to know a little bit more about the final - how hard it was, how many questions, how much time, etc. Will appreciate greatly any additional info.

Wish I could help you, but I am currently taking that class too.

Congrats and welcome to the program. I am starting my third semester in the nursing program. It has been a wild ride but I have survived. If you have not logged on to SacCt and read the announcements there is going to be a "meet and greet" for incoming students to get to know their classmates and talk with students who have some nursing school time under their belts. The meet and greet is scheduled for Jan 19 at noon in the nursing department room 1039. It is a pot luck so bring something yummy.
