Spring Arbor University - PMHNP

Published

Hello ,

I've been accepted into this program. Does anyone know anything about this program? I don't see many reviews on it. I was actually also accepted into Waldens program, but they have so many negative reviews, that I just chose not to go that direction. On the other hand, I don't see much at all about Spring arbor, good or bad. So if anyone has info on this program, please post it.

Thanks so much

Hi,

Have you started the program yet? I just learned about them today.

Hi, Yes I've been in the program since January 25'. I really like it, im learning and the workload is not overwhelming. I'm start clinicians next week. Unfortunately, like most online programs, I had to find my own preceptor. I couldn't find a free one so im paying 10.00 per hour. They do have a database of preceptors, but I had no luck with it. I'm still excited and can't wait to finish.

That is great to hear. What made you look at this school to consider it an option? And how did you hear about them? I know you mentioned Walden. Just curious since there are so many other programs.

I stumbled across them since they will consider my GPA seeing as though it is slightly under a 3.0.

I chose this program after doing a general search and was drawn to several important factors. I liked that the clinical hour requirement was 500 hours, with the option for some to be completed via telehealth, which offers great flexibility. The cost of the program was also very reasonable, and they accepted all of my prerequisites as well as the 3P courses I had already completed. What really stood out was that there was no wait — I was able to start on the very next start date after being accepted. Finally, while the program may not have a strong reputation yet, I saw that as a positive. In my view, having no reputation is far better than having a bad one, which was unfortunately my experience with Walden, where I completed two-thirds of my 3Ps.

I love your mindset regarding the reputation aspect. Thank you for going into detail. I feel as if I have a greater appreciation for the school now.

Did you see the comments on this platform about SAU? I think it was back in 2019....Citing a hostile nursing office, publicly shaming a student's email, and questioning it's Christian principles. It appears if the school had issues then, it must have cleaned up its act.

Another comment said that you have to double up on clinical hours in order to finish on time... if you do not double it will take 3.5 years vs 2.5. Thoughts on that?

Let's keep the conversation going. You are helping me more than you know.
