Sponsorship advice needed

I need some help regarding visa sponsorship. Since nursing is a schedule A priority it seems to be pretty easy to get a GC. I'm not entirely sure about the process though. Do you need a hospital to actually sponsor you or can you apply for a GC once you have a job offer and you don't need a hospital to sponsor you but you can apply on your own.

Due to the complexity of my case & GC application, I ended up with employment sponsorship. My employer agreed to sponsor after 1yr of employment. Mine is Adjustment of Status (AOS) rather than consular processing since I'm already in the US.
