Specialist FNP vs ACNP?

I know ACNPs can specialize in fields like cardiology, but I believe FNPs can do so as well. So I'm wondering what the difference is.

I've heard that there's movement towards having hospital-based NPs be only ACNPs, but I wonder what the difference would be in a clinic setting.

Thanks

I am interested in the answer to this question as well, only between the ANP/GNP and the ACNP. Trying to choose an RN-BSN-MSN program in the next six months, and Acute Care NP programs are much fewer and farther between.

ACNPs are not trained as primary care providers. FNPs are primary care providers.
