Spartanburg Community College Nursing Acceptance

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi guys,

I just finished all of my pre-reqs and I will be submitting the admissions form for the nursing program on October 1st. Just curious to see the amount of points that it took to get into the program. I have 40 but I could have 49 if my CPT 101 wasn't expired. I am currently enrolled to take it again but I may just exempt it if it's possible.

I don't even know what the passport is. I have done the CPR, the background check, and the drug test.

I called a couple of weeks ago and the nursing secretary said that we would still get a certified letter that would explain things more. I still haven't gotten one. Have you? What is the passport?

wait a minute. (its like a online safety procedure course. ) ok, did u ever send a certified letter back? like writing a letter saying that you accepted slot?

Yes, two Wednesdays ago. They signed for it last Monday. I save the return slip just in case. How long did it take for you to get yours back?

3 days. at first i didn't think my acceptance letter was gonna come before the "due date", so i sent a regular letter first, then i sent the certified letter.

I left a message with the dept. head today. Hopefully I will hear something back tomorrow.

I cannot believe you hadn't got it yet, although with the timing of everything, I'm not too surprised. also, don't stress over the student passport thing, bc it looks like something to do over the course of a year (well its a year subscription we have to pay $10 for). and as I was saying earlier, the instructions for the cbi/dt and the student passport are not very "updated" ... so beware. email me if u have any questions, its probably, quicker than using this site.

Why do I feel like everything is shrouded in mystery for this school? Why isn't there a Nursing Handbook like every other school? Sorry, just my rant for the day. Any idea what kind of shoes we need? I am guessing that they would be all white, closed heel/toe, and fluid resistant but I cant find anything concrete anywhere.....

I feel the same way. As far as the shoes go...no idea. But I was informed that Danskos would be great for standing for long periods.

I know I'm a year late but do you know by word of mouth some of the lowest scores they accepted? When I apply in October, I'll only have 33points. This is because I'm still have a few classes to take this semester. They are starting to give points for classes you're enrolled in. I know I'll have a great score if I wait until May to apply BUT I have nothing to lose by applying now.

@bcpht hey, I was trying to see if you were accepted with the 33 points? What was the lowest score accepted?

39 was the lowest accepted in the last round.
