Southwest Tn Community College Nursing 2019

Published

Hello everyone,

I am planning on applying for the Spring 2019 Nursing program at Southwest TN Community College and I was wondering if anyone has taken the NLN exam yet? Any pointers would be awesome. I am super nervous about this test.

I am one of the tutors at STCC and have done NLN exam workshops in the past, so here's some pointers:

Get the book, use it, love it, cherish it. If you can do the practice questions in the book with no issue then you'll be fine on the test.

Everything that you need to know for the test is in the book - make sure you're up to date on your A&P, know your hormones etc. I was unlucky for the science part and they kept throwing physics Qs at me, but they weren't too bad.

Make sure you time yourself - the computer won't tell you if you go over 40mins or so per section, so you have to keep an eye on the clock. They'll provide you with a little calculator too, so make use of it. Also; if the proctor is talking a lot at the start of the exam, you have the option to wait for a few minutes until they get everyone settled. The first section is English, so you're going to need to be focused.

Good luck! Feel free to ask more Qs!

Good morning,

Thanks for the feedback! I have purchased the study guide but I noticed that it didn't come with a CD-Rom. Do you know where I can find the Cd that goes with the study guide?

If it says that there should be a CD-rom and it's not there, go back to the bookstore and let them know - it's usually attached to either the front or back cover on the inside. If there's not meant to be a CD rom, all of the problems that you can work through (plus their answer keys) will be in the book :)

I know that the old, red NLN book cake with a CD rom, not sure on the ATI TEAS one that they're selling now though (still has pretty much the same info in it)

Hello! So what’s the best book to study for the test that you mentioned above? I am looking to apply this fall to attend in the spring. Thank you for the pointers!

Hey there! At the macon bookstore they're selling the ATI TEAS book instead of the old red NLN one - don't panic though, it's all the same content really.

This is the ISBN for the book I used:

ISBN-10: 0763762717
