Published

Hi there! I wanted to start a thread for southern crescent RN program for the Spring 2024 cohort. I was wondering if anyone else on here applied?

Same!! I'm excited and nervous! Trying to decide on a schedule for work. You gon work while you're in the program?

Yeah Ima try to, I picked a PRN shift to be alittle easier for me. I just don't know which shift.  Can I PM you my number. It would be great to know atleast one person when January comes around.

I honestly wouldn't recommend working while in the program! It's Monday-Thursday. However, it is doable! Especially if you have to pay bills! You have to do what you have to do! Remember nursing school is temporary not forever!

Yeah I know it'll be a lot, but Ima try and see if it's do able for me,but you're right those speeches about the programs definitely have me second guessing it. Which campus are you attending?

That's so true!! I'm full time right now. I like my independence but I may cut back on work.

I'll be at Henry! They definitely made me second guess working in semester 2.

How is the program going for the ones that made it in? How is the schedule?

The program is definitely hard & stressful at times! The schedule for the first semester was Monday-Thursday. Once you get into the second senester, you'll have clinicals or virtual Tuesdays and Thursdays. Exams are every other week

That's understandable! What were the times for Mon-thur & what days are clinicals? And you mean like virtual lectures at home on tuesdays and thursdays after the first semester?

Lecture is from 8am-3pm! For clinicals, the days are Tuesdays and Thursdays from like 8am-3pm. Virtual days will be for the people who don't go to clinicals first. You'll be traveling back and forth to the Henry or flint campus for virtual days!

Having to travel to flint campus is crazy! But honestly the program seems very doable! I thought clinicals would for sure start at 6am like most schools. I have 3 small kids so knowing this ahead of time is helping me already. Are clinicals at henry piedmont ?

I'm sorry clinicals starts at 6:30am!! The virtual simulations are the ones that start at 8:30am! Clinical placement depends on where the instructor puts you. You could be at piedmont Henry, piedmont fayette, encompass health, or upson regional! You also have to find your own mental health hours during the second semester as well!

Ohh gotcha! Thank you girl for taking the time to answer my questions! I wish you well in the remainder of the program<3

Thank you so much lmk if you have any questions. Do you have a contact number? I can send you more info!
