I am currently living the UK and planning to relocate to SC, USA in August. I am a legal permanent resident of USA so visa etc is not an issue.
I am currently studying for the NCLEX-exams.
I would like to know if other UK-educated nurses faced any problems by SC nursing board to recognize their qualifications? My education did not include paediatrics and obstetrics so I am a bit worried although I am fully qualified as a RN in the UK.
Thanks for your input in advance.

Our education here in the UK often lacks the required number of hours in a few of the specialist areas required by the US Boards of Nursing. This may be an even bigger problem as you seem to have zero hours in a peds/maternity. SC BON website indicates that they require the CGFNS CES report for overseas trained nurses. Page 20 of this, http://www.cgfns.org/files/pdf/apps/...book%20Web.pdf
application shows the areas they require theory/practice information on. Perhaps might be best if you contacted your Uni/School of Nursing to ask the for a copy of your transcript first to see if you have any deficits in your training before applying any further. BTW when did you finish your education? Seems like quite a few courses over the last 5+ years don't always meet US requirements. Good Luck

Thanks for the reply, got my CES report from CGFNS. I am now waiting for SC board of nursing to approve or decline my application regarding the NCLEX exams. Think i will have to do the hours for ped and obs. I have been qualified for 7 months, currently working in orthopeadic in Scotland.
