I will be graduating December 21st from my BSN program. I did a 10-week internship in the ED last summer and am planning on doing my capstone experience there in the fall. The hospital I did my internship at (& currently work at) has a New Grad RN program I am applying for. I really want to work in the ED upon graduation but afraid that dream will be crushed. If there are tech's or aides from the ED that only have their ADN, would I be considered over them? Is there anything that would make me more marketable besides my BSN? I am planning on taking a PEARS course this summer and possibly also getting my PALS. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Whether employees will be hired preferentially really depends. If they require a BSN but the tech only got an ADN then they may not get hired (my hospital won't do it). Generally speaking, though, you're going to have a hard time competing against people who are already known commodities in the department (presuming they're good workers and well-liked).
Certainly taking classes like ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, TNCC, TCAR, ENPC are helpful but don't neglect actively studying. Our department interviews with clinical scenarios and some people can't hack it.
