Soon to graduate

I am graduating in May (hopefully) and I want to know if starting out in medical-surgical nursing is the way to go or are times changing since nursing is becoming so specialized? Thank you for any helpful direction!

Im in the same boat!! I graduate May 3rd :nurse: and people are running around with their ICU, CVICU, and ER jobs!! Even though I have experience as an EMT and work as an aide in the ER, I wonder if I should go this route or do Med Sug a while!!?? Also, I am doing my mentorship in the PACU and may want to wait to see how I like that!

Where do you go to school?? Do you have a mentorship period? Mine is the last 5 weeks of school...are you kind of numb knowing you'll be done soon?? I AM!! :eek:

Good luck!! All I can say is reasearch and talk to other RNS's...I find out a lot that way!
