On another thread I was asked to post information here about places that I am personnally aware of that say, at least, that they are actively hiring nurses. It is not my intent to advertise for, nor to imply any connection with, these organizations. Rather I am simply supplying some information that I have uncovered that might be helpful to nurses out there who are looking for jobs.
Below I will list the agency/organization and then the website for that organization.
State of Georgia -- careers.ga.gov (currently recruiting for nurses, NPs, and other health related occupations)
Hutcheson Medical Center in Fort Oglethorpe, GA -- www.hutcheson.org (I have been told that even if the position states experience is prefered they will consider new grads.)
Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN -- www.erlanger.org (They have recently announced that due to a settlement reached with the former CEO they will be holding on recruitment for non-clinical positions, but they say that they will still continue to actively hire clinical and nursing staff.)
There may be others in these areas that are hiring, but these are all places that have stated they are actively hiring nurses when I have inquired with them. Like I say above I have no connections with any of these places other than contacting them while trying to research the nursing job market in this area. I cannot guarantee, of course, that they will hire, but it would be worth checking in to in my opinion if you are looking for employment.
I do not know much about this, but I have heard that the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps recruits for nurses. It might be worth checking with them at www.usphs.gov to find out more if you are interested.
I sincerely hope this post can help someone in their search for a job.
