I was wondering if anyone knew of any summer nursing externships in SoCal? I don't go to school in the area so it has to be one that takes out of state students. I know of the UCLA one but it doesn't pay anything :/ Thanks in advance!!!

You should take whatever is offered even if nothing but experience is given to you. A strong letter of recommendation and a buff resume goes a long way.
Ca forums would offer you the best answers though.

I don't know any internships that pay in the SoCal area. Most students are happy to just be placed in an area of their greatest interest. I haven't heard of externship in over a decade and even then it was a glorified CNA position.
When I was in school there was paid externships that was a nice high teens/hr. These were also the first programs to be cut. Many required you to be by a local school and I think they're all gone.
I personally interned a couple summers as a respite camp nurse for those with special and physical needs. Buff CV and lor.
