So...I wanna be a Nurse Anesthetist...I think..

Published

I have been working as a med-surg nurse (RN) for the past year and a half since graduating nursing school in May, 2006. I am interested in becoming a nurse anesthetist (I think), but need some words of wisdom and experience to guide me in this decision. SO, here's two questions for those qualified to answer: 1. Which Master's program steers you in that direction, and 2. What are some ups/downs associated with that career? Thanks for all the advice I hope to get!

please check the stickies at the top of the forum.

Nurse anesthesia is a masters program. You will need at least one full year of critical care experience before applying. Also, many programs require that you have your CCRN as well. You will need ACLS & PALS also. Most of us on this website are in the process of applying so we know the hoops you have to jump through pretty well.

Specializes in Accepted...Master's Entry Program, 2008!.
