smoker: goblet cells, ciliated cells, epithelial thickness

1st person is a non-smoker, 2nd person is light smoker, 3rd person is heavy smoker

if im given a table with different %'s of goblet cells, ciliated cells, and epithelial thickness (results of study of their tracheal epithelium)..how do i idenity which person is the non smoker, who is light smoker, and who is the heavy smoker. thanks!!!

Since smoking "burns up" ciliated cells, I'd guess that the person with the most ciliated cells would be the non-smoker.

Also...smokers have increased number and sizes of goblet cells which leads to hypersecretion of mucous --> chronic bronchitis and inability to clear secretions from damaged cilia
