Smalltown Girl Wanting to Explore

World International

I am graduating in December and am looking into my options. I am not married and have no kids, so I am interested in traveling, and I think it would be exciting to go to another country. My question to all of you nurses would be about what you think about working in another country. Have any of you gone from the US to another country to be an RN, and how did it work out for you?? What are the pros and cons of doing this?? Did your license transfer, or was it difficult to set everything up in another country???

You would need at least 2 years of acute care nursing experience first. Travelling to another country is possible but you would need to obtain a nursing license and a work visa for that country. Not easily done in some cases. You would also need to be fluent in the language if the official language was't English.
